Organising Your Office Bookcase
Your desk can be in a very presentable order. However, if your bookcase is stuffed with unread books, stacks of papers, magazines, and knickknacks, your office will always appear to be a cluttered mess. Written below is a guide for organising the contents of your bookshelf.
Start by gathering up everything stored in and around your bookcase and place them on a table for sorting. Classify every item into the following: keep, donate, file, or trash. This might well be the toughest and most time-consuming because it can be difficult to let go of things, even if you no longer use or need them.
Once you are done sorting, you can then proceed to treating each pile accordingly. Place everything you intend to dispose of in trash bags for the garbage collector. The titles and manuscripts to be donated should all go into a box and loaded into your car to be taken to your favourite charity later. Arrange the remaining files, put them in labelled folders, and store them in alphabetical order. Finally, dust your bookshelf with a feather duster before replacing your books there. Organise them first according to category then size.
