Learning How to Raise Your Office Chair
With the heavy demands of work, many employees fail to adjust the seats in their cubicles to a more comfortable level. As a result, they suffer from sitting in a low chair for a long time. Below is a guide on how to correct this for a more comfortable position.
Begin by deciding on the optimal height for your office chair. Your feet should be able to rest comfortably on the floor; your thighs should be horizontal. Also, the angle between the latter and your calves should be horizontal. However, you should find in a position that will give you easy access to equipment like your desk or keyboard.
Next, note that most of the newer models have a pneumatic lever on one side of the seat that can be used for adjustments. On the other hand, older units need to be rotated manually in order to be raised.
Finally, start raising your office chair. If it has a lever, sit down and adjust from a seated position by simply pulling on the handle and allowing the contraption to lift. In the absence of this automatic feature, simply stand in front and turn the seat either clockwise or counter-clockwise.
